Located 30 miles out to sea on Nantucket Island, our farm is raising the bar for sustainably grown, local flowers in our community.
We care deeply about the natural world, and all farming decisions are based on how they will affect the world we live in. We do not use any form of pesticides or herbicides.
Only natural amendments are employed. We use locally produced, OMRI-certified compost twice a year. Worm castings, feather meal, and bone meal are sometimes applied, depending on the results of our soil tests, conducted every year.
We don’t plow our fields or remove our annuals. We never “cut down” our fields. Our plants stay in place all year. In the winter, local insects and birds use our weathering beds for food and shelter.
In autumn, we apply a fresh coat of dried eelgrass to our beds to act as a blanket for our flowers as the temperature dips.
We have solar power, several electric vehicles, and battery or human-powered tools.
We believe in the value of locally grown, seasonal flowers. If you do too, we’d love to work with you!
